Feeling cheeky for Easter, so here’s a selection of my favourite ambiguous Batman and Robin moments.

Well played.

Text 17 Apr A moment from STUDIO 60 that almost perfectly captures why I love Aaron Sorkin

Harriet Hayes: You honestly think I’m a homophobe?
Matt Albie: Yes, yes I do. And you know why? ‘cause you are.
Harriet Hayes: I said the bible says -
Matt Albie: [sarcastically] Yeah, yeah.
Harriet Hayes: Don’t “yeah, yeah” me! And it seems to me that every Democrat on a ballot answers the same question by talking about civil unions and leaving it up to the states and not wanting to - …
Matt Albie: I don’t need any reminding that my party is full to brimming with panderers and mediocrity.
Harriet Hayes: What’s wrong with civil unions? And why shouldn’t we -
Matt Albie: ‘Cause there’s no way to get to the end of that sentence without saying that homosexual love is something less than heterosexual love and watching you trip all over it makes me want to hit you on the head with Liberace.

Text 17 Apr 1 note Conversation with myself

Rob Lowe has written another book.
Jesus Christ.
That means I have to read it.

A thoughtful, honest critique of a COMIC BOOK COVER that drew horrendous, hateful responses from idiot men.

FAKE GEEK GUYS: A MESSAGE TO MEN ABOUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT
By Andy Khouri
“I think this woman is wrong about something on the Internet. Clearly my best course of action is to threaten her with rape.”
That’s crazy talk, right? So why does it happen all the time?
Honest question, dudes.
That women are harassed online is not news. That women in comics and the broader fandom cultures are harassed online is not news. That these women are routinely transmitted anonymous messages describing graphic sexual violence perpetrated upon them for transgressions as grave as not liking a thing… that is actually news to me, and it’s probably news to a lot of you guys reading this.
So what do we do about it?
This.

Not gonna lie; it’s been a really awful week in comics.Hopefully something constructive, far-reaching and industry-changing comes out of this whole mess of sexism and misogyny, and dudes get called out on their bad behaviour & learn the #1 top level vital lesson, that rape threats are NEVER AN OPTION, GUYS! Hopefully comic professionals finally understand that they cannot change the increasingly strong tread of women entering -and- staying in the field, in all and every aspects: writing, drawing, inking, editing, reporting, mentoring and in leadership roles. That all women in the comic industry have a say. All. Of. Them. That feminism doesn’t mean their POV becomes immediately invalid. Also, please support gimpnelly in her comic industry harassment survey. Thanks.

This is a great article, as is Ms. Asselin’s original critique.
